Look what came in the mail today! My friend Gail sent this to me. I mentioned to her that I really like princess feather blocks so she sent me the pattern and the history of this block. Isn't she fantastic?!!!
This is going to be the next block I make for my Circuit Rider's Quilt. As I said, I'm not sticking exactly to the original but substituting other blocks for the repeated blocks. I really like this one. There is a princess feather in the original but it has a lot of small, sharp feathers on the plumes and it's not the one I really wanted in my quilt. I'm working on a paper cut block right now but should be able to finish it in the next day or two. I can't wait to get started on this one.
